I KNEW IT WAS YOU Updates
Since its debut at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, I KNEW IT WAS YOU has gone on to play many more prestigious festivals, including Aspen Shortsfest, the Boston Film Festival, and the Worldwide Short Film Festival. It makes its European premiere at the International Rome Film Festival on October 22nd.
BAM in Brooklyn also had a special retrospective of John Cazale’s work that included a screening of I KNEW IT WAS YOU and Q&A with Richard Shepard. Though it has since passed, more information on the program can be found here. New York Magazine also wrote an article on the retrospective.
Richard Shepard wrote and directed the feature films The Matador, The Hunting Party, Oxygen, Mexico City, Mercy, and The Linguini Incident. He won Emmy and Directors Guild Awards for directing the Ugly Betty pilot, and has also helmed numerous other TV programs, including episodes of 30 Rock and Criminal Minds. His latest project, the short documentary I Knew It Was You, premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival.
